Mbombela- TS Galaxy were the only South African team to win in CAF Confederation debut this past weekend, 11 August 2019after beating Saint Louis Suns United 1-0 in the first leg of their preliminary round tie at Mbombela stadium in Nelspruit.

The Red Army were making their first-ever appearance in continental competitions after they beat Kaizer Chiefs in the Nedbank Cup Final last season.

Dan Malesela’s charges had an opportunity to find the opener in the 15th minute after they were awarded a penalty following a handball inside the box but they could not capitalise as they missed from the resultant spot-kick.

TS Galaxy finally found the breakthrough five minutes before the break through Sizwe Mdlinzo and managed to head to the dressing room holding a 1-0 advantage.

The Rockets were all over their Seychelles opponents from the word go, and perhaps the score line could have been different had they not missed a penalty in the early stages. The SIYADUMUZA supporters came in numbers, and they were happy at the fact that they kept a clean sheet in their tournament debut.

TS Galaxy will open their GladAfrica Championship campaign against Jomo Cosmos this Sunday, the 18th August 2019 at Kameelrevier stadium. The game will be televised live on SuperSport TV.
